The German Window Company brings you traditional hardwood sash windows at affordable prices.

This means that you can now retain the character of your house without compromising its value by fitting uPVC or aluminium windows.

Our sash windows are traditionally hung on cords and weights, which give you long-lasting reliability - unlike unreliable spiral springs.

With the economies of scale and advanced manufacturing processes of our state-of-the-art German factory, we are able to produce precision-made hardwood windows of extremely high quality at prices that have not previously been seen in the UK.

Designs

All our windows are made-to-measure to fit your existing aperture. If required, we can match glazing bar patterns and styles.

We offer traditional brass or chrome handles and catches as part of the package.

Frame member dimensions are 68/78mm
Sash member dimensions are 68/78mm
Sash member at terrace doors are 68/78mm at left, right and head. The sill is 68/100mm

Hardware

Sash lift for easier opening and closing
One piece brush seal gasket in white or black
Thermal separated drip rail Daru 25/24 F-TI with plastic covers at the ends

Wood

RABAU sash windows are made of solid Matoa hardwood, laminated in 3 layers to DIN 68602/B4.

Finish

The final paint or stain finish is micro-porous, water-based, and complies with DIN 68085.

We use three steps in our finishing process:

one coat of primer
one coat of pore filler
final finish coat.

Glazing

We use insulated glass to the following specification:

4/10/4=18mm
U value = 1.5 W/m2K
Silicone caulk on the interior and exterior
Filled with argon gas
Pilkington K toughened glass
Laminate glass is an optional extra @ £20 per square metre
Draft control
Noise absorbent - sound proofing with RW = 32dB

Special feature

Frames can be delivered with 6.5mm installation drilling for ease of fitting

All our windows are covered by a comprehensive 10 year guarantee (subject to terms and conditions which are available on request).

Standard window costs:

Cost of a typical 900mm x 1500mm sash window: £1,375 + VAT
Cost of a typical 3 section bay window: £3,955 + VAT

These prices are for 1 pane over 1 pane design.

Extras:

Multiple pane designs (e.g. 2 over 2, 3 over 3 etc.): add £25.00 per pane
Scrolled horns: add £20.00 per pair
Laminate Glass: add £20.00 per metre
Obscured Glass: add £35.00 per metre
Fitting: add 18% to window price.
